How does the ROADLOK differ from a disc lock?
The ROADLOK is mounted on the front brake of your motorcycle. After installation, the motorcycle is secured with a removable pin. This pin is inserted through a hole in the brake disc to prevent the motorcycle from rolling away. Since our system is mounted directly on the motorcycle, no movement is possible, so no damage can occur. Imagine trying to ride away while the front brake lever is pulled in – your motorcycle will eventually stall.
A disc lock is not permanently mounted on your motorcycle. A disc lock is placed on the brake disc to prevent the motorcycle from rolling away by using the brake caliper, fork or fender to stop the rotation of the wheel when the lock hits it. Disc locks can be forgotten, and this is where damage or injury can occur.
My pin does not come out when I turn the key fully to the right – is it stuck?
Due to the unique design of the ROADLOK system, if pressure is applied to the BrakeBolt pin, it will not immediately release when the key is fully turned. To remove the pin, keep the key turned fully to the right and take the pressure off the pin by gently pushing against or pulling on the fork leg – the pin will then release immediately. Note: Regardless of the amount of pressure exerted on the pin by the motorcycle, the main body of the pin will pop out of the hole by about 1/4", which means it is unlocked from the primary position.

Can't the bolts simply be removed when the ROADLOK is locked, so the motorcycle can be moved?
If the bolts are removed and the ROADLOK is detached from the motorcycle while the pin is still in place, the system remains attached to the brake disc, preventing further rotation. The motorcycle remains immovable, even if the system hits the brake, the brake caliper or the fender. At that point, the system effectively functions as a standard disc lock.
Is the ROADLOK compatible with ABS (anti-lock braking system)?
Yes, it is compatible. The ROADLOK does not cause any interference with the factory ABS system. Since we test the fitment of our system on every motorcycle, the model is not listed on the product page if we detect any interference.
Does the ROADLOK affect the performance of my motorcycle or brakes?
No. The ROADLOK system has been tested by IMR Test Labs and Thatcham UK for both its impact on the braking system and its anti-theft protection. The weight of the entire system is less than 300 grams and has no effect on handling, cornering or braking. In terms of security, the system can withstand the required attack time to be certified for Thatcham approval in the United Kingdom and ART4 certification in the Netherlands. Each system type has been tested by IMR Test Labs for interference with factory braking systems and no negative impact has been found.
I have lost my pin. How do I get a new one?
The locking pin, also known as the BrakeBolt, is universal and fits every locking system. One BrakeBolt fits every immobilizer – buy it here.
Does the ROADLOK work on motorcycles with aftermarket brake discs?
We design each system based on the original brake systems (OEM) of each motorcycle. If you have installed aftermarket brake components, we cannot guarantee a perfect fit.
How do I clean the key cylinder?
The keys and the key cylinder are made of high-quality metals that can withstand the usual environmental conditions a motorcyclist encounters during normal use. To ensure smooth operation, it is recommended to rinse the cylinder with water every 2 to 3 months and dry it with a short burst of air. Do not use lubricant sprays such as WD-40 or white lithium grease, as these attract and retain dirt and sand in the cylinder, causing friction and increased wear.
Does the ROADLOK come with a warranty?
Yes! We offer a limited lifetime warranty on every set we sell. We have full confidence in the quality and craftsmanship of our immobilizers and will repair or replace parts with a manufacturing defect for the entire lifetime of the lock.
The lock cylinder itself is covered by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. If problems occur within this period, we may, at our discretion, offer a replacement.
Please note that proper maintenance, regular cleaning and care are required for normal operation of the lock. Damage caused by improper use, lack of maintenance or abuse is not covered by the warranty.
What is included in the set?
Each lock set comes with everything you need for installation and use. This includes all necessary mounting hardware and spacers, the BrakeBolt locking pin, a dust cap, a rubber cylinder cover, 2 keys and the signature yellow lanyard. You do not need to purchase a separate mounting kit.
